As architects, safe spaces that enable development and growth are particularly close to our hearts. Creating places that empower and support people and open up new perspectives for them is a central part of our professional identity. We are therefore all the more delighted to be supporting a project with this year's donation that creates precisely this kind of protected living space. With the Diakonie-Haus Münzviertel, our team has chosen a place that enables homeless people to stabilise their lives and, with the support of social workers, to work on personal challenges such as debt, addiction or mental health issues. With around 30 small, fully equipped flats, this is a home that offers stability, care and encouragement. Each unit has its own room, bathroom and small kitchen. The house is complemented by a medical practice on the ground floor, which offers people without health insurance access to basic care. The Diakonie-Stiftung MitMenschlichkeit foundation is thus creating a protected space from which new steps can be taken.
