The topping-out ceremony for the new Bliedersdorf-Nottensdorf primary school took place last week. The event was dedicated entirely to the soon-to-be little »residents« of the new learning village, which is tailored precisely to their needs with its individual learning houses. Everyone was invited, from the future pupils in first to third grade to the daycare centre children who are still starting school. The clean construction site, which was accessible to all, impressed the children as well as the residents present, who also followed the events with great interest. Participants with walkers were also able to access the building without any problems.
In addition to the mayor's words and the traditional topping-out speech, there were some particularly heartfelt moments. A birthday song was sung to the foreman and little Julia from class 3b and the future pupils thanked the construction workers and everyone involved with a spontaneous clapping concert under the guidance of the headmistress. A gesture that already testifies to a strong community and connection with the new school site.
Fresh pretzels and drinks for the children rounded off the successful celebration, which further increased the anticipation of this new place to feel good and grow.
