We are delighted to have been awarded the contract for the renovation of the Luise Klinsmann House in Lübeck’s city centre following a public procurement procedure. Built between 1963 and 1965 to designs by Ernst Blunck, the listed building was purpose-built for the adult education centre and remains its main location today. The building is named after Dr Luise Klinsmann, the first woman to serve in the Senate of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck and its long-serving Senator for Cultural Affairs. Education and culture were central to her work, and the building continues to embody these values today. Georg Weiland’s bronze sculpture above the entrance, »Allegory of the Natural Sciences and Humanities«, also expresses this sense of purpose. We now have the opportunity to help shape the future of this special place of learning. The renovation will focus on accessibility, fire safety, energy efficiency and the renewal of building services, with each intervention carefully considered in relation to the building’s historic fabric. For us, this is a rewarding task: preserving the building’s history while ensuring that it continues to provide a place for learning, exchange and personal growth for years to come.
